About You
I really enjoyed the insight week, every activity was fun and well planned and the week gave us a good understanding of UBS and all the different divisions within the bank.
You could tell a lot of effort had gone into the week and were valued as we were seen as the next generation of the bank
The HR team were always on hand if you had a question or needed help with something
The skill that was mostly developed was teamwork as we had to work in different groups to do different challenges so we had to quickly adapt to working with new people. This will help both at uni and in employment.
The Company
I really liked the structure of the week as all of us got to do a workshop with each division which taught us about the functions and daily lives of each one. This was really useful as it made me consider divisions which I had never thought of before. The work shadowing was also structured well as the person I shadowed had arranged the whole afternoon and made a schedule of people to meet from different divisions to give us an overview of the atmosphere of the bank.
Very positive, the UBS employees were all lovely and seemed friendly with each other and among the Insights Programme, we were all making new friends so overall it was a great atmosphere.
Each division taught us about their division and explained how to do it.
We were able to speak to different employees in different divisions who told us what it was like to work at UBS and what their daily lives were like.
I really got to appreciate the friendly and helpful culture of the bank as you could see how all the employees were there to help and all got along with each other.
On the week I realised that the financial sector is definitely something I would like to do in my future career and it also made me realise which division I was most suited to.
Everything Else
I was provided accommodation and my travel expenses were reimbursed
We met many employees from all different divisions throughout the week in the different activities and also on the work shadowing we got to spend the whole afternoon with an employee
On the first night there was a social activity for all of the Insights Programme, this was great as it enabled everyone to relax and talk to new people so that for the rest of the week everyone knew each other which really helped in the teamwork activities.
We had a talk by a representative of 4 different networks within UBS and they explained the different things employees in the network can do outside of work.
Yes, I would definitely recommend the Insights Week to anyone interested in UBS or the financial sector.
