About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight as it gave me valuable insight knowledge into different segments of the RBS bank and taught me about a variety of different components which i was unaware of, such as transaction services
I felt valued the entire time - RBS clearly puts a lot of effort into helping to educate potential graduates and for that i was very grateful. Most of my time was planned and this helped to ensure i was kept busy throughout the week
I received a lot of guidance and support - i was able to ask questions whenever i wanted and did not feel silly asking questions at any point, which helped me to improve my knowledge overall.
My skills will benefit me massively after my degree - i felt like i learnt a lot of transferrable skills related to the office environment and i will be able to use these when i graduate. The skills i developed will also encourage me to not just rely on my degree, but to volunteer for experiences which will broaden my skills whilst at university
The Company
Most of the insight was well structured, however not all graduates that i shadowed had a specific plan of what to do with us interns - it was very noticeable what graduates had put time and effort in to looking after us, and which ones had planned very little.
The general atmosphere was excellent - everyone seemed to love their job, and i loved spending time with other people my age who were interested in working with RBS in the future, just like me.
I thought RBS had invested a lot of time and money in me, providing me with lunch daily, along with providing training sessions on the wednesday and friday.
It gave me an excellent insight, and this was mainly due to the benefits i gained from my experience with working with current graduates who were easily relatable to.
It helped a lot - the company culture overall seemed great and everyone accentuated how the culture has changed since the recession and how much the bank was changing for the beter
Very valuable - it has further ignited my passion and enjoyment in banking, and it helped me realise that RBS is the place for me.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed expenses - thankyou!
Many opportunities - however i did feel that the Friday afternoon networking session was not particularly necessary as we had networked most of the week and had subsequently asked all the questions we needed to ask
Really fun! I made a lot of contacts and learnt the benefits of using these
Yes - i was very interested in the charity work and networking work which employees have the opportunity to join - i would be interested in joining these too if i was employed
definitely!
