About You
I very much enjoyed this experience. The people that worked there were very nice and where possible did answer any questions that I had.
Although they couldn't let us have a hands on experience due to the sensitive nature they did treat us as colleagues which I appreciated.
The employees did share their experiences of RBS and I felt they were honest which was reassuring.
I think it will help very much, Just the skill of seeing how important puncuality is in a fast paced environment is invaluable. On top of that I feel that I will keep in contact with the employees that I met which may help me in the future.
The Company
It was very structed. We got a booklet on the first day that had our timetable so we always knew what was happening and it never felt like the organisers were winging it which made the programme feel valuable.
It was really good, Everyone got along with each other and the employees made the work shadowing enjoyable. Overall I feel I would enjoy working at RBS.
I feel they did, since we got a chance to meet lots of different employees from different job sectors. So we really got a chance to see how everything links together.
After the insight I felt that there were lots of job roles within the bank that I had previously overloked that I now want to experience working in.
I think I really got a sense for RBS's culture. Especially the grad programme, The graduates gave a real image of everybody willing to help each other that I found appealing.
It was very valueable. Just seeing what the day in a life of a banker is was very interesting and I saw how people that work in different areas have different job roles.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed expenses for the tube journeys.
Yes there was. There were quite a few networking events, the main ones were on the first and last day in the evening.
There were lots of employees from different backgrounds so there was a lot to learn from there and a very good oppurtunity to build up contacts.
Yes, there was a dedicated networking event that had a lot of different oppurtunities available and representatives from each one. They explained everything very well and gave me a chance to think about what I could do if I ever worked at RBS.
I would recommend this to a friend. Even if at the end of it you realise banking isn't for you, it is still an enjoyable week where you get to see some exciting things and meet many new people.
