About You
It was a very intense two weeks, but i thoroughly enjoyed my time and learnt so much about Investment Banking and Goldman Sachs.
Many members of the firm (from analysts to MD and partners) took time out of their days to speak with us all as a group as well as meet any of us for a coffee if we had specific question to ask. Everyone was extremely welcoming.
We were given an extensive training on accounting and financial modelling as well as having Analysts on hand to help us with any issues/questions we had with our projects.
The training day and case studies we did on accounting and finance will be extremely valuable for my upcoming exams on these topics. The skills sessions on interview techniques and networking skills will also be extremely valuable for the future.
The Company
It was an extremely well structured programme. We were fully timetabled throughout the two week with lots of extremely insightful events and activities. There was very little free time to be had during the two weeks.
Everybody I met and worked with during the programme was extremely helpful and kind. I got on well with everybody else in my programme class and we all worked extremely well together, we were all sad to say goodbye at the end of the week! Goldman Sachs is defiantly a place I would love to have the opportunity to work at in the future.
They gave us many training activities to help us develop our skills.
The case studies gave us an insight on what the day to day working life would be like and meeting with current employers and speaking with them about the Goldman Sachs environment also provided an excellent insight.
Lots. We had many talks and conversations about the culture and the importance of it.
It gave me an extremely valuable insight into what exactly investment banking was and whether it was something i would like to do as a future career.
Everything Else
I was paid, put up in a hotel at their cost and reimbursed for one return travel from home to the office.
Yes, we had lots of networking events and sessions with employees of all levels within the firm.
They were very insightful. We had a wide range of different networking events, from speed networking to round table discussions and evening drinks events.
Yes, we had several talks about this.
I would defiantly recommend this to a friend. It was a great two weeks. I learnt more then i ever thought could be possible in that time !!
