The Role
It was an extreme change for me, however I enjoyed every single minute of it. I developed a lot of skills at work as well as I have developed my personal skills.
My team was really nice and friendly to me. Always helpful and never made me feel any worse than other employees. I was awarded to 'Above and Beyond' Employee Recognition Award for exceeding expectations of the placement student.
I had been trained and had a really good handover of work that I will be doing from a previous placement student. My manager was really supportive and I could always talk to her about any issues or concerns I had.
I always had something to do. As I wasn't only working for one manager I had tasks coming from 3 managers. There wasn't a day where I had nothing to do.
I was a chair of a department database spreadsheet with confidential information which had to be taken care of every month and updated with sufficient information and changes. I was also a first contact for several projects and had to make sure everything is ordered on time as well as be supportive to our distributors.
It made a massive change. I became more confident and developed excellent presentation skills. Before placement I was really shy and would never be able to stand in front of a lot of people and present or give a speech. Now I am not afraid of it and it is just more natural. The most important I don't get so stressed as I did before to the point where I couldn't get my words out.
The Company
Busy, always into work but friendly and enjoyable
Really good! We had four different trainings to attend to and complete. Throughout the year I was working closely with my manager. She had a plan of what I need to be doing and at what point she could see the results and improvements.
Company paid for four different modules which highly developed my skills as well as my personal development.

Highly recommended. I would definitely come back for a Graduate Scheme.
The Culture
Yes. Company made sure all placements students had a chance to meet together and get to know everyone.
It is definitely more expensive than student halls but it all depends what area the placement is in.
It wasn't great the area was really quiet, however it's all about the people you meet and then socialise with.
We had a few company meal evenings where you could socialise with company colleagues outside work.
