About You
The One Day Insight Programme was immensely informative and helpful. Whether you know the Banking Industry very well or not at all this programme was expertly designed to be effective for everyone.
There was a genuine feeling that all involved in organising the Insight Programme wanted to share as much as possible about RBC. We were given the opportunity to ask questions to a wide variety of Senior figures within many departments of the bank. In addition, we were allowed to openly talk to a group of recent graduates as a group and also individually.
We were guided by employees from many different departments throughout the insight, each willing to answer any queries we had about their respective jobs.
The information we received will definitely help me to make a more informed career choice.
The Company
The structure was very impressive, There was a very good mix of speeches with Q&A, a tour of the trading floor and group case study presentations.
Firstly, the atmosphere was very welcoming. We were also in the environment where we were actively encouraged to ask questions on current issues, job description and work/life balances.
It was made clear that should we be interested in continuing our career with RBC then we would be given expert training. This was confirmed by those who had participated.
We were given ideas of the roles that an analyst would be involved in by the Managing Directors of many departments. In addition, we were able to talk to employees who had recently started the graduate programme to gain a deeper insight.
The HR department, as well as the Capital Markets Departments were keen to demonstrate the company culture as professional and rewarding.
Very helpful. A variety of department heads and recent graduates allowed us to obtain a clear view of the company, the industry and our own progression.
Everything Else
Our travel expenses were reimbursed up to the value of £100.
There were networking opportunities throughout the day, with recent graduates as well as more senior members of departments.
These opportunities were mainly focused around the end of the day, which was ideal as we could refer to what we had been told during the day as a reference point when discussing.
I personally did not find out about these activities.
Without any doubt I would recommend this to a friend or anyone else who is looking to gain a deeper insight into the Banking Industry.
