About You
Very well put together, the graduate recruitment team were very friendly and made you feel comfortable straight away. The variety of activities on offer was also a bonus.
I found it very easy to bond with everyone I spoke to at the firm, from lawyers to the catering team. Overall, a very friendly atmosphere. The fact that they had read so many applications manually made you feel like you were valued and that they really wanted to hear from you in the future.
Lots of very good advice in a variety of areas. It was particularly useful talking to people at different levels within the firm, from partners to trainees. There was also lots of tips for the application process for vacation schemes.
One of the most useful workshops was the networking workshop which will no doubt come in extremely helpful throught university and into the future. The negotiation exercises also were very handy in picking up some tips for interview processes in the future.
The Company
Very well structured, it was always clear what we were doing and the timetable was followed well. There were a good amount of breaks, no bouts of boredom or switching off.
One of the things that stood out most to me were the people at Linklaters. I was a bit sceptical when I heard how different some of the magic circle firms cultures are compared with one another, but after Pathfinders I can definitely see this.
With a variety of workshops they taught us a wide array of skills, they clearly had thought hard about this could help us in the future.
I felt that I was able to absorb much of the culture and ethos of the firm. The only downside is that it would have been nice for the shadowing element to have run for longer. However, with the time constraints I imagine this would have been very difficult.
Very helpful, the trainees were very honest with their opinions and it was clear that they were not lying, all were very enthusiastic about Linklaters despite the workload.
Extremely valuable, I was unsure about what I wanted to do after university, but a career in commercial law is looking promising now.
Everything Else
We were reimbursed travel expenses and they also paid for accommodation.
Yes many opportunities in meeting a wide range of people, from partners to associates to trainees.
The social event in the evening was fantastic. Held in Linklater's Silks restaurant, it gave us the opportunity to bond more as a group and the food was delicious.
Speaking to the trainees and listening to the presentations there are clearly a lot of sporting activities and we were taken on a tour of some of the excellent facilities the offices have to offer.
yes, definitely. Overall an extremely enjoyable and insightful experience.
