About You
A perfect blend of informative sessions and networking events to familiarize oneself with the firm - overall a very enjoyable experience.
Everyone was very helpful and keen to answer any questions. I felt that my views were valued by the firm and that my input was highly encouraged throughout the Insight.
Guidance and support was always available when needed - never felt lost or ignored.
The presentations on the various divisions within the Investment Bank were quite informative, however a bit basic at times. I especially enjoyed the talk on the economic landscape and the workshops aimed at developing applied skills.
The Company
The insight was very well structured with a full schedule for the week handed out beforehand. Events were always on-time and efficiently planned.
A very warm atmosphere - everyone was very kind and willing to make acquaintance.
There were many workshop activities, a work-shadowing event, networking events with employees at the firm and an assessment centre at the end of the week to potentially gain a spot on the summer program the next year. Overall, felt very well invested in.
The opportunity to work-shadow within a division of my choosing was a very valuable experience and helped me develop my understanding of the day to day operations of a trader within a full-time role.
There were numerous presentations aimed at developing an understanding of the company culture, as well as other employees who were enthusiastic in introducing certain elements of the culture.
The content of the day provided a very thorough Insight into the banking industry and the various divisions within the Investment Bank. The firm also helped to ease certain doubts and stigmas on the industry.
Everything Else
The firm provided accommodation for a week of stay.
There was a networking lunch organised for interns to meet graduates and more senior employees of the firm.
Networking opportunities were organised everyday and offered the opportunity to communicate with other interns, as well as employees at the firm. They were well organised and encouraged widespread communication.
Employees would openly answer questions aimed at activities outside work.
Yes - highly recommendable for anyone interested in working within the Financial Services sector.
