The Role
I loved it and can't wait to go back next Summer
They were all keen to help and I'm still in touch with a majority of them
My line manager was great! He gave me enough independence to feel like a grown up but was always there if I needed help
It was swings and roundabouts but I never felt under an uncomfortable amount of pressure
I was given responsibility to get myself across London to meetings on time, prepare for them etc etc
I was able to apply a lot of my theoretical economics knowledge
The Company
The office was quite quiet but varied from Day to day due to hot desking
I didn't know where I would be placed until 3 weeks before my placement but this was the only set back
We had a two day training session at the beginning where we met the other interns
Financial Bonus
Very. HSBC looks after it's graduates well
The Culture
There were a few socials organised by fellow interns and official ones at the end and beginning organised by HSBC
Commuting was v expensive but that was due to personal circumstances of commuting from Surrey to City
Good but it was mainly bars and pubs
There were a few emails about volunteering and as a group of interns, we all volunteered at London Wetland Centre for a day to clear weeds!
