The Role
Coming into this role I was really unsure about what I wanted to do. This role has made me see what things I enjoy. The intern community at HP is something that no-where else has which also added to the while experience.
The PR/ AR team are so welcoming and really make you feel like part of a team. They are not shy to make it known what a great job you are doing- inside and outside of the team.
I spoke to my direct manager more than once a day- she was always there for support and questions if I needed. I also had a weekly 1-1 call or chat with my higher manager to make sure everything was going okay.
It was consistently busy- but a good busy. No- body likes to have no work and I had the opportunity to get really involved with amazing projects.
Part of this role is having a high level of responsibility. It is something that can be very rewarding and beneficial for experience. Towards the end of my placement I was running my own events with little support which was a great opportunity.
As I am doing a degree that is only related a little bit to my role at HP there are similarities. But working in this environment gives you a great work ethic and the team are so willing to put time into you to learn new things and get as much exposure to receive all the training you want/ need.
The Company
Being based in Bracknell (The head office) is a great community. Most interns are based there so there is a sense of community and understanding amongst each other. We would always go for lunch together and do a lot of things outside of work together too. We were friends inside and outside of work.
It was a bit of a slow start however once introduced to the team the team were keen to make sure that you had a organized structure to work within.
The company really invested in you as an individual. it was great to see- something that not everywhere does.

HP have a great graduate scheme. A lot of people who have previously been in my role are already back with HP.
The Culture
As there at 70 interns (students) at HP there is a great social scene. Especially at the weekends. Everyone is always doing something together as a group.
The rent was £310 (cheaper than where I live at uni) and it is about a 20 minute drive from Reading to Bracknell.
Reading has a good social scene for nightlife as well as shopping and casual activities.
HP interns were always messaging about the next weekends plans. We organized a weekend away together as well which was really great.
