The Role
I really enjoyed my placement year, I worked on a vast number of projects and learnt a lot, there was also a lot of team activities during and after work which was fun.
As time went on during my placement I felt more and more valued by my colleagues. the first few months were training, but when I started working on real live projects I felt valued.
I was giving tremendous support from my management and supervisors, who where always available to talk to, even if they were not in the office they were on Skype to give me support.
I was very busy on a daily basis, there was always something to do, this was great as I learnt a lot from doing so many various things.
As my placement went on I was given more and more responsibility, I was working on my own project by the end of my placement, trying to automate manual tests.
The skills I gained in this placement was tremendous, I gained skills in Linux and Python , to name a few. These will definitely assist me in in my degree and beyond, looking for a future in I.T.
The Company
The atmosphere was great in the office, everyone was friendly and you could ask a question to any of the colleagues for help.
The overall work placement set up, was great, it was structured very well, learning the product, then training, then into practice.
The company invested in me a lot, I received python courses, and a lot of HP in -house course.

Being employed with this company in the future is really appealing, there are many opportunities to learn and grow.
The Culture
There was a great social scene amongst fellow placement students, we all started at roughly the same time so that helped, we would regularly take breaks and discuss placement and university
Being right in the centre of the city, the cost is slightly higher than anywhere else but not by much, there was a lot of cheap places to choose from.
Again being in the centre of the city the night like is good, we went on a Christmas do and the night life was awesome.
Yes, a lot of people like sports and would organise 5 a side football which I joined, HP also have a fun week once a year, and consisted of go karting, golf, ice hockey match and pool competition.
