The Role
I have really enjoyed my time at IBM.
I felt like I was really part of my team. I developed a great rapport with my manager and my team.
I believe that everyone at IBM are willing to help. I have shadowed some employees which is something I recommend everyone to do.
I always had something to do.
My role had a lot of responsibility associated with it as I worked for a support team so ensuring customers were happy was a priority.
I developed my technical skills as I worked with VMware. I have also developed my soft skills by attending the education modules ran by IBM.
The Company
It's quite a small office and a lot of people work from home. Based near heathrow airport it doesnt have much of a social aspect. Because it's a small office you get to know the workers better.
Yes good overall set up.
IBM have a lot of education modules which are useful. I do feel they should allow interns to explore other parts of the business by being able to take on extra work if they can.
You dont get an unconditional offer so you have to work for it. It's good they judge you on your performance and 'fast track' you depending on head count.
The Culture
We had about 30 interns but because we're not based in central london social aspect wasnt great.
Socialising - not great. Living costs good for london depending on where you live
Not at all.
There are sport clubs but not much else.
