The Role
The job role was enjoyable as I got to work as part of a team of 5 interns (and there were plenty more in my office). I enjoyed the fact that this was one of the most technical roles and I was in constant 1-to-1 contact (phone and email) with managers of international companies.
Highly valued. Resolved ~200 business technical issues and made up a significant proportion of support for the product.
2 weeks of initial training and then thrown in at the deep end. Support was given throughout the year and was always available.
If I was not working on client issues, I was building testing servers or helping others. There was always something to do.
High. Made up 1/5 of the student team which is ~1/2 the support for this product in the UK. In direct contact with clients which are paying the company millions each year, one on one.
It will assist my knowledge of databases and server architecture. Mostly the workplace skills gained and working full time.
The Company
Quiet and relaxed. No problems with talking with others or going for a coffee. People we genuine. The design could be more appealing though - very functional and linear.
No complaints.
Lots of opportunities to attend events as well as online sessions. Completed certifications and also volunteering.
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Lots of jobs however I am not sure about the culture - can seem a bit dated.
The Culture
Lots of meet ups both company organised and also by ourselves.
I am from the North West. It is a lot more expensive in London so be frugal.
Not many clubs however central London is not far away.
Lots of events in the area.
