The Role
I have really enjoyed my placement year.
I am extremely valued by my manager who relies on me to do many tasks. I am valued by other interns as we work together on several projects. My work also works with graduates, and I have felt they come to me for help and information, and value my input.
I was given support whenever I needed it. If I needed help there are several people to go to. My task manager but also you have a Personal Development Manager who helps with any issues surrounding your job, living arrangements etc.
I have been really busy and I know my job actually makes a difference to the business. I have done lots of travelling around the country and have really enjoyed the challenge of managing my time correctly.
I have been given ultimate responsibility for some tasks. My manager does not check everything I do, and I am ultimately responsible for my own job and development. You can get involved in as little or as much as you want to.
I have been helped beyond my degree. I have real life work experience of the work place that will prove to be invaluable when applying for future jobs, and working in either IBM or other companies.
