The Role
Loved my job. It was all about how much effort I put in. The more I put in, the more I got out!
Very much. My knowledge of excel, and particularly access meant people came to me, the student for help.
My manager sat opposite me, so she was always there to help out. She helped me out a lot in the first few months, and was always someone who could help solve a problem. She was a wicked friend too, we always were up for a laugh.
Some days I was rushed off my feet, some were very slow. It was a very ad hoc job, waiting for requests from staff/customers to come in. It helped to perfect the skill of time management.
Weekly reports to the UK sales managers, interviewing customers & recomending them for huge accounts, organising and sending out price lists for over 300 customers. Was a lot of responsibility!
Time management will be with me always. It also helped me to develop as a person, and become more confident.
The Company
We had oodles of fun. Our office contained 4 students, and there were 7 more across the road so the banter emails never stopped (even when we were repremanded for it!) And the non students were also up for fun too. Very organised and work orientated, but everyone knew how to relax.
Really well. When the contracts were sent out, they sent housing lists, week/2 week handovers with the previous students, advice from HR whenever needed. Quite well organsied.
If i wanted to further myself, there were language courses and computer courses available. However, it was hard to fit these in with the level of work on, and usually being left to cover the phones all day meant i couldn't leave the area a lot of the time.

Great company to work for. They really look after you. Im just not sure there are many opportunities to go higher up in the company if you stay in the UK. Much better prospects if you go to Germany
The Culture
Loads of students at bosch, lots of nights out in Uxbridge, Watford & Central London. Ate lunch every day, and lots of the students lived close to work, so there was always a floor available to crash on. House party's a plenty
I lived in Milton Keynes, an hour and a half away from work. Large ammounts of wages went on travel. Stayed at home so rent was cheap.
Uxbridge was ok, as was watford. London was close, so there's always options there.
Marathon, Football teams, cricket teams, fun runs, bike races. There were lots of opportunities if you made the effort. Again though, being students, you probably won't be arsed!
