The Role
I really enjoyed my placement and would definitlety look into accountancy as a career when I graduate.
I felt very valued by my colleagues as when I did something well colleagues would tell me.
The people where very approachable, especially at management level and always had time for you if you needed advice or support.
After the first month or so once I settled in I always had things to do, sometimes I was busier than others and had maybe to much work but it is always better than having nothing to do and I enjoyed the work so didn't mind if it involved staying late.
I feel I was given plenty of responsibility as I was sent to clients by myself after a while and dealt directly with clients.
Very much, some of the things I'd learnt during my degree I was using on my placement and I definitly think some of the things I learnt whilst on placement I will use in my final year and when I start working once I graduate.
The Company
There was a great atmosphere in the office and people were very sociable and being a large office there was always something happening.
I was only the second placement student in the department but I was treated the same as a graduate recruitee so was given the same work etc.
I went on a couple of training course which were useful.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
I've been offered a job and will probably return once I graduate.
The Culture
I was the only placement student there but there were several other graduates who were a similar age to myself.
Similar to university but I lived in the city centre so my rent was quite expensive.
Good.
Several, there were local and national football tournaments as well as several nights out organised by work. There were also 'away days' for the office and various departments.
