The Role
Had a really insightful year, and developed both personally and professionally as a result of this.
I felt like i was valued, and given a lot of responsibility during my time here. I was treated as one of the team from day one and have always felt very much involved with them from all aspects.
I was given great support throughout my placement, and having both a task manager and a personal development manager ensured I had the range of support I required at all times. Even if I didnt always use it, I knew it was there when I needed it.
On a daily basis I had my regular tasks to do which ensured I was kept busy, it was then up to me to get involved with extra work which meant during typically quiet periods I was still busy and had things to occupy me with.
I was given a lot more responsibility than I ever expected, having my particular tasks that were crucial to the team and given the responsibility of supporting them when they needed. Through an additional project I was given great responsibility to run and plan an event for around 400 people which was a big responsibility.
I think the personal skills I have developed will assist me in both my degree and in future employment as they are transferable and through the use of education modules I was able to reinforce these and allow me to carry them with me in the future.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was great, everyone was very friendly and welcoming at the start and this continued throughout the duration of my placement. It was a great way to get my taste of a professional office environment for the first time.
My internship was set up very well, and provided me with a great deal of structure for the year. It also gave me the chance to get involved in a number of different forms of giveback and the education modules allowed me to consolidate skills I have learnt on a daily basis. The review structure was very well set up and the constructive feedback this gave me throughout the duration of placement was extremely beneficial.
I was able to take part in educational modules run by the foundation scheme which allowed me to develop and tailor it by picking the ones I was most interested in. I was also able to benefit from the online training material provided by the company worldwide and undertake this in my own time.

The Culture
Yes the social scene withing the interns is a highlight of the placement year. Everyone is likeminded and with most relocating to London it gives us the chance to develop a close group of friends. Many of us all live together and in 'intern houses' and there is always something being planned for the whole group as well as small friendship groups organizing individual events.
Very high! Rent was high and the cost of socialising was just as high, but after a while we found the 'cheaper' places, even if our idea of cheap is not distorted! We got a London allowance on wages though which helped to cover.
The nightlife in Central London is great, and very varied!
Yes plenty.
