The Role
I was given a lot of control of my activities and given access to resources I couldn't get at University. It was a brilliant chance to develop a set of skills within a field I am extremely passionate about.
This is slightly misleading as the project I was working on was effectively airgapped from the main development of products within the team due to its nature. I have however received valuable help whenever I have requested it.
My supervisor has been brilliant. I was set up with a desk beside his and he has been extremely willing to help. Brilliant technical guy, sharp sense of humor and very knowledgeable.
Very. I never had a day where I wasn't working on something.
Completed placement as part of my final year dissertation for my MEng. Brilliant place, storage team is exemplary. So much knowledge internally within this company, I learnt so much. I would seriously recommend it!
The Company
Quiet and a brilliant place to get work done. It wasn't a distracting office but there were many perks. (Private stash of Cola for the developers, cake on thursdays, free coffee!) The atmosphere was relaxed when it needed to be but conducive to work if that's what was required. Can't fault it.
I have been amazed by the brilliant management of the Internship placement. Any dealings or changes have been made clear and explained. Responses have always been prompt and any issues I have had have been resolved quickly. i.e. my laptop arrived broken but was shipped a new one next day, can't really beat that.
Lots. I have been trained in the topic I selected for my dissertation which has wide relevance to the area of the company I will be moved into post internship. I have been offered a job in the AD team at HP and have been trained up as such.

Company Parties/Events
I'm working here as a graduate come August 10th
The Culture
I got to work with fellow grad students from my course so I was able to quick start at the company. Many events were run on site.
Cost of living roughly £4800 for rent, £2000 for food. Drinks are ~£3 per pint.
It was fine. Didn't really have time for it to be honest. I'm a final year student. That's not really top of my priorities currently.
They were fine. Store-once team invited us out to a Circus skills workshop.
