About You
Extreamly interesting and fun. We learnt lots about the company as a whole and the different service lines offered, especially audit and tax.
All staff we met were very nice and happy to answer any questions we had. We were taken out for dinner the first evening along with around 19 members of EY staff, who were all interested in talking to us, especially the recent graduates with regards to application processes.
We had a timetable for each day and the events were lead my members of staff with help from the student recruitment team. We received good guidance on the next stages of the application process and how to develop our skills.
Through the many activities we completed during the two days we developed our team work skills, our analytical skills and communication and presenting skills. These are all skills that are highly valued in our degree studies and i was able to easily transfer what I had learnt.
The Company
The two days were very structured, with numerous events happening each day. Meaning we were always kept busy and engaged.
The atmosphere was really good, all the other students were very friendly. The staff with us were also very friendly and approachable leading to a good atmosphere during the programme.
We were given tasks to do that simulated what we would do if we were an EY employee, which helped develop many of the skills we would need in the work place.
The insight gave a brief understanding of what it would be like to work for EY but it was not as detailed as it could have been.
The insight gave us a great understanding of the company culture just from seeing the way the staff interacted and talking to them over lunch and dinner.
The day was very valuable in regards to helping me decide on a future career, it provided us with a good understanding of their tax and audit departments, what is involved with day to day work in those departments and an understanding of the professional exams.
Everything Else
Travel is reimbursed.
Yes during lunch on the first day we met recent graduates and placement year students. During the dinner their was opportunity to talk to partners, managers, graduates and members of the student recruitment team.
The networking event was a dinner with EY staff. The dinner was very good. After the dinner the students decided to continue socialising.
This was briefly mentioned by employees during their presentations.
