The Role
I really enjoyed my work placement at HP. My job was very processed based which I enjoyed but could be boring at time, but I had a lot of extra experiences to combat this.
Very valued, everyone treated you like a full time member of the team and I have a few great teams I worked in
I had a placement supervisor so I did not get direct guidance from my manager. We had lots of opportunities to talk to the team and were always given support by them.
Varied throughout the months
So my responsibility, as if my job wasn't done customers could not order. If an intern did not do my position then they would have to hire someone full time
I received excel and presentation training as well as training on the role. I developed my time management, prioritization, communication and leadership skills.
The Company
Laid back and chilled generally
very well organized, had a month training handover with the old intern and had a training pack
they let me complete any extra activity I would like to complete
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare/Dental
Very appealing about 10 people in my department were interns
The Culture
with over 100 interns, we live together and go out every weekend!
Reading is not too expensive - <£400 rent
Not too many options but a few new places have opened up
you are able to get involved in any activities the full time employees organise
