About You
The Discover EY insight programme was very enjoyable. Throughout the whole programme, there were engaging activities and I did not feel like I wasted my time there.
There was a concerted effort by the Discover EY team to make us all feel included. Given the short period of time for this programme, I thought that there were limited opportunities on feeling integrated.
There was guidance where it was needed, but there were still times where we were encouraged to independently engage with the challenges.
Being only a 2 day programme, there were limited skills that could be developed. Taking a degree in Politics and Economics, the technical skills I developed were largely non-transferrable. However, they may prove useful beyond in almost any career/industry.
The Company
From the beginning to the end, there was a clear structure and it was adhered to.
In general, all the people (students and employees) were very friendly and it was not a pressured atmosphere at all.
There was not much training, as there was limited time. Mostly there was just an insight on the services of EY and experiences of employees.
During the insight, there were many opportunities to hear from current EY employees describe their roles in the companies and their typical days.
In what I could see in 2 days, I was very impressed. The company culture was clear from the beginning.
After the insight, I am quite confident I want to pursue a career in this industry.
Everything Else
Travel and accommodation expenses.
There were opportunities to meet employees, but none at the more senior or managerial levels.
Dinner at Gaucho provided a great opportunity to talk to current EY employees.
This was not heavily emphasised
I would if they were interested in any potential career in a professional services industry, or even if they wanted to know what it was about.
