The Role
I have had a really great time here and learnt a lot. The experience has been amazing and when i'm looking for graduate jobs, I will be looking at companies with the same work ethic as Intel.
Very Valued. You aren't treated like an Intern, you're treated like a full time, permanent member, everyone is really friendly and helpful.
I had weekly meetings/catch-ups with my manager who was always there to help with anything I needed. They are very encouraging, and understand that this is probably your first proper job.
I always had things to do and was busy. I was certainly never bored, but I ever had too much work that I couldn't cope with either. You soon learn how to manager your time effectively once you start a placement.
I was given a lot more responsibility that I initially thought I would have been given. However, if I ever struggled with anything, I could always get help from my peers/team members.
I've gained invaluable skills that a degree could never have taught me. I now understand why it is so important to get as much hand on experience as possible to help me get a graduate job in the future.
The Company
Very relaxed atmosphere, fairly quiet most of the time. However it varies on different floors/departments.
Really well organised. I think I greatly benefitted from an open day before we started, so that we were able to meet all the other new interns, and also our teams. This made the first day much less daunting.
I have had the same opportunities as all other employees for training and development. Again, another way to show that you are treated the same as everyone else.

Extremely low for me, which is disappointing. Not all departments actively hire back, and I am in one that doesn't, which is a shame, as I've got so much useful experience and would definitely be interested.
The Culture
Yes, especially because there were over 50 new interns. We were like a small uni community. It was really nice having so many interns in the same place.
Roughly average. As Swindon isn't a student place, we could not get student accommodation. So we needed to pay letting agency fees etc, but it wasn't very expensive overall - plus the house I am in now is much nicer than a student house!
Yes, and we took advantage of it a lot. Especially at the start of the placement, we had a lot of Intern nights out together etc.
There were sports clubs and some events that Intel put on for us. But we mainly made our own opportunities in the Intern community.
