Pricing/Samples Analyst Review

It was great overall, really nice environment to work in, great motivation from employee perks and treated like a full time employee so hardly felt like an intern. Only major downside was being in Swindon, but still made the most of it (it does have a great range of restaurants!).

Majority of the time felt very valued, especially by the teams I worked in. Was always asked for help and surprisingly they all wanted to hear my opinion and for me to contribute to projects and eventually take on my own projects which made me feel highly valued to be trusted to do that.

No complaints at all with my managers and on-the-job coaches. Regular 1:1 meetings were set up to ensure I was progressing and had all the support and help i needed work and non-work related. They were incredibly helpful and I could ask for anything and they would help me make it happen. They also were interested in my development and were continuously going above and beyond to give me new challenges and experiences.

My job involved many different types of tasks - some were daily, some monthly and some quarterly. I was incredibly busy at the end of the quarter and some weeks were a lot busier than others. In this role you need to be proactive and I was continuously asking for new projects and work to keep me busy even when business was quiet.

I had a high level of responsibility as most of my work involved looking into highly confidential information. I was also given a lot of solo projects throughout my placement which I had to develop and create myself - obviously I could ask for help where needed but ultimately I was left to make it happen.

I believe that I have learned more this year than in my previous two years of study and highly recommend a placement year to anyone taking a business degree. It not only improves/develops your business skills, but also increases your confidence and gets you ready for a graduate job.

Definitely had a 'work hard- play hard' motto in the office. The teams I worked with were very sociable and even though everyone works incredibly hard, you still have a joke about and enjoy spending time in the workplace. I am pretty sure there wasn't one dull day!

It was organised fairly well, however, as the business develops so fast, so did my job role and 4 months in half of my role had been given to another department. It then took a few months of pestering to be given a new job but it was worthwhile as I got to then see a different area of the business.

For the first month we had very intense classroom training and then had training sessions throughout the rest of placement. My manager was also keen to talk about my development in my meetings with him and was able to set goals that I could push myself to achieve throughout.

I would love to come back and work for Intel - you can soon see why everyone stays for so long! In Operations a few graduates get offered back so it is very competitive

There are around 50 placement students so at the beginning everyone was going out a lot and having different social events throughout the year for interns. As the year went on, placement students became more integrated in their teams and I particularly enjoyed the nights out with my teams.

Coming from a university which the average weekly rent cost was £100 per week, Swindon is incredibly cheap to live in. Rent is around £70 per week per person. However, socialising was a big part of placement so was quite costly eating out and attending lots of events - but definitely worth it!!

I find nightlife is what you make of it, Swindon has great bars in Old Town and a Revs nightclub in New Town. It does have great links to Bristol, Bath, Reading and London though if you want something different.

So many opportunities for anything you can think of. If you wanted to join a sports club there would be one there, or if there wasn't you could easily create your own.
