The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at IBM. Not only did I feel as though I was a valid member of the team, I always had interesting tasks to be getting on with.
As IBM pay a considerable salary, they make the most of your time. The tasks you are asked to do are not mundane and repetitive. But insightful and interesting. As long as you are willing to work, you will be faced with plenty of opportunity.
IBM have a great system for their foundation employees. Each will have their own Personal development manager, who will review your progress throughout your placement. If things aren't going too well they will do their best to get this resolved. The amount of supporting opportunities is countless
Everyday varied. The position I was in meant I was in various locations around the UK; new teams, new projects and new objectives were consistently changing. The times you are required to work depend on how busy it is. Some days you finish at 4/5 occasionally it could be 7/8
As you progress though your placement you are given more and more responsibility dependent on your capability. If you show you are capable you will be given the chance to manage more responsibility. The further you are through your placement the more knowledgeable you will be with the ways IBM work, therefore more responsibility will be assigned to you
Hopefully a lot. This is hard to answer when you haven't returned to your final year of study
The Company
Every office is different. There is always lots of activity going on around all the offices I have been in. people will chat and there is often a good atmosphere
Organised enough to suit me. IBM has a flexible structure, so that you can expand into different area of the business. If you end up in a strictly organised company, you will end up doing what they want to do and not what you want to do. IBM offered this flexibility which suited me perfectly
There is countless online training courses which are paid for by IBM. Throughout the year there are plenty events available for you to get stuck into. IBM's graduate training is far superior to its placement year students. however, you would expect this
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Car
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
International Travel
Financial Bonus

Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday

A great deal. I would love the opportunity to come and work for IBM as a Graduate. They have a great starting salary, a large training budget, plenty of room for growth of opportunity and perks coming out of your ears
