The Role
Definitely enjoyed every minute!
I wasn't viewed as the 'student' at all
Considering I'm pretty awful at stats the amount I have progressed in this year is dumbfounding! my line manager, his manager, and the rest of my team were absolutely amazing from start to finish.
No strict deadlines. if I wanted to be busy there was always stuff to do but if I for example had a heavy night the night before I could chill for the day.
I worked in medicines pharmacy and drugs, £15billion of the department's budget went here - I was (in partnership with my line manager) in charge of around £4bn
Its fair to say I was useless before I started - now I cannot myself believe how much I've come along
The Company
Relaxed, chilled
very good opportunities etc
As I said before I was literally just another member of the team, I had a training budget, went to Leeds a few times where everything was payed for.
Flexi Time
National Travel
Above 25 days holiday
the government fast stream is very competitive, well paid and the security in civil service is brilliant
The Culture
we all had to organise the analyst's Christmas party which forced us all together the first couple of months, there is about 15 of us split between NHSE and DH, so we got together a bit after that
Pretty expensive as would be expected from London, but the wages reflect this so you can definitely live comfortably
London!
Not really for students, only if we organised them ourselves
