The Role
Work placement was a great opportunity to get better insight into how manufacturing business work. I had many chances to be involved in various challenging projects that let me gain different skills. Every day was different so it was impossible to loose interest in my job.
No one was treating me like just a placement student and my work was always appreciated by others. My skills and knowledge were extremely valuable. People were asking for my advice and help and I was happy to contribute as much as I could.
My manager was very approchable and I was supported when I needed help or guidance even though I felt that leadership could have shared more of their knowledge with me.
Some days were busier than other. Normal working hours were 08:30 - 16:30 and I needed to stay longer very rarely.
I was involved in many projects that were very important for business. I created some new models that were used to make important business decisions. Also, the analysis I conducted was the basis of all decisions made in our business area.
My work placement helped me decide on what career path is suitable for me. The skills I developed will be very useful in some of my university projects. They will also be a great contribution to requirements for future job positions.
The Company
The atmosphere was very relaxing. Everyone was very approchable and friendly.
There was no clear structure of the placement itself. Almost no formal training was provided as well. But I received formal feedback twice which was very useful.
No technical training was provided. It was hard to get some softwares that would have let me improve some processes and develop my skills.

This is a big company that has great opportunities to start your career and then progress futher. However, majority operations are in North America, so it is very difficult to contrinute to corporate side of business.
The Culture
There were a lot of placement students on the same site. There were plenty of social events for us.
Rent was reasonable and the area was relatively cheap.
Not very good. There were a few clubs but they were not the nicest.
There was a department organising various volunteering activities outside of work.
