The Role
It was very interesting and allowed you to get to know more precisely what a full time graduate position would entail.
PwC employs many interns throughout the summer so staff are very well placed to offer them full support.
My manager was always keen to make sure I was using my time well and that I was happy.
I kept busy and always hit targets on the amount of time to bill out.
I was given sections of work to do. These would then be reviewed by more senior staff in the same way that graduates would work.
It is great to have a more 'businessy' perspective on academic topics.
The Company
People were keen and proud of where they worked.
PwC regularly have interns in the office so are very well set up to cater to their needs.
PwC invests in its people and they expect that more senior staff will teach and train the more junior staff. This culture ensures that you get training and develop as a person.

The Culture
The interns organised events themselves as well as getting involved in their own office activities. Many of us are still in contact and are planning a future get together.
There was plenty of socialising/sport opportunities to get involved in. The cost of living is fair in Reading. It is reasonably expensive, but less than London. This is reflected in the salary.
Reading town centre has plenty of restaurants/pubs/clubs. We did go out with people from the office so got to know plenty of people.
There were lots of socials and sporting events which were optional but encouraged. We were also allowed to join PwC networks which include specific groups such as sports or religion.
