About You
It was really enjoyable, I learnt a lot more about the firm through various networking and speakers. I also enjoyed the practical applications of Economics and contextual talks on Emerging Markets for example
More of an insight rather than work experience but I felt very welcomed
Lots of opportunities to speak to employees from across the firm a mix of socialising and networking which gave plenty of guidance to follow similar paths
Really helped build on networking skills, also some of the talks will help with my Economics studies at universities
The Company
Very well planned and organised
It was generally very friendly and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves ase well as learn a lot
There interview and CV workshops that they ran throughout the insight which were very useful
The networking was very useful especially with current grads who had just gone through the process and were able to give a very valid insight
Helped dispell the myth of the negative hardline corporate culture at Goldman Sachs. Yes the environment is competitive and Goldman aren't afraid to showcase that. But it is a promotion of healthy competition that makes one strive to be the best they can be rather than just simply the best
Yes, it made the prospect of working in Investment Banking all the more attractive
Everything Else
Goldman Sachs only offer to reimburse expenses for those travelling from out of London, however my expenses were not significant, only tube travel as lunch is provided
There were varied networking opportunities from socialising at lunch to speakers to having a sort of 'speed networking' event which gave exposure to a lot of service lines within the firm
Very useful, the employees were able to answer all the questions you have as well as offer guidance and support on career choices. The HR department were extremley helpful
The standard activities such as gym and sport are available
Yes it is definitley an oppurtunity to get your foot through the door of investment banking
