The Role
I feel I learnt a lot from my time there, however it was over very quickly.
I felt everything I did was genuinely useful to the team I was placed in - I wasn't just given photocopying and the like!
Had very little contact with anyone senior due to their job commitments.
I was worked hard and generally felt I had a good amount to be getting on with, but not under an atmosphere that felt too stressful.
The work I was given mattered. I was sent to Luton to carry out an onsite review on my own which was more responsibility than I had envisaged but it taught me a lot being pushed.
If I were to choose audit/accounting as a profession then the internship with KPMG would prove very helpful as it taught me a lot in such a short space of time.
The Company
A very small office but in genreal everyone was in good spirits and positive.
The triaing day was a fantastic start that gave us an introduction to the company, what we would be doing, and our fellow interns. From day two onwards we went straight to our individual areas where managers were expecting us and had work ready for us. Overal it was organised excellently.
We had a full day of training, which included a talk from the COO of the company. Throughout the rest of the internship I was given a lot of responsibility and felt valued from the variety of work I was trusted with.
Subsidised Canteen
A company with a fantastic atomsphere and very motivated, pleasant staff throughout my time there.
The Culture
I think there is, if you are there on a longer placement. However, ours was so short there was little need for such a scheme.
Central London is notoriously expensive.
Not that we were really able to sample it, but the nightlife in the area is excellent.
Again, therw would be if we were there for longer as the compan has a fantastic social scheme that aims to get as many people involved as possible.
