    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Very Well - I got involved in so many cases and was involved in every part of cases that our team worked on. Everyone working their is very sociable and friendly

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The team make you feel valued in everyway. They will ask you questions whenever they need help and are not afraid to ask a placement sudent for help

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Whenever you need help with something or you have issues with someone there will always be someone there to talk to. Whether it be your manager or simply just a colleague there will always be someone around to help

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At the start you will not be incredibly busy, because you do not know the projects or cases that the team is working on. However, this will quickly change and you will get heavily involved in the workload

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Again, at the start because the team do not know you and you dont know the team or the work, you will not get a great deal of responsibility. However, you see very quickly you will get a lot of responsibility and a lot of time you are just left to get on with it and if you need help there is always someone to ask

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My teamwork and communications skills improved signigicantly and this will help in my studies as potentially there may be a time when you are working on a project with people you don't know and haven't worked with before. Also, working at PWC boosts your confidence as there is always someone there to guide you

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Friendly - obviously there is a sense of professsionalism in the office as it is a working environment. However, you will always see colleagues talking to one another either about work or about outside of work things .

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Everything was very clearly set out for you. You are told straight away what team you will be joining and what the team does. You are helped at the start about what your objectived should be for your placement and what they think you should achieve at the end of it.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • PWC let you attend as many trainign courses as they deem to be necessary. Every couple of months we would have Techtrains for 2 hours at a time which covers a wide range of subjects and issues. There is also Team Conferences so you get to meet people in other offices and really they encourage you to go on more training courses as they know the benefits it will provide for you

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • As PWC is one of the top graduate recruiters in the UK the future employment prospects are very appealing. It is very much like the placement (the socialble and work side of it) however they will help you go through your accountancy exams.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We would get togethers at social events whether it be externally (for example going to dinner) or internally such as haveing develpments to see how everyone is getting on.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Belfast is probably is reasonably priced and I would imagine is no differently priced than the surrounding areas of other PWC offices

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • PWC belfast is slightly outside of the town centre (5 or 10 minute walk) , but once you get into the town centre there is plenty of shops, restaurants and clubs

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • The team will always organise social events invite everyone along, obviously these are not compulsory but it is a good way to get to know more of your team without being in the workplace

    5/5
