    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement, I had the opportunity to work with a lot of very talented, interesting people and learnt a tremendous amount from them.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued, placement students are treated like graduates at PwC and are respected as such.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The support from management is very strong, I was never afraid to ask questions to any member of staff no matter how silly it seemed.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Most of the time I was busy, although due the nature of our work sometimes too much work came in at once and sometimes none at all meaning I had varying amounts of work over the course of the year.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As I mentioned before, placement students are given the same level of responsibility as graduates, which from my experience is a lot of responsibility. This really helps to build your confidence as a new member of the firm

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think the technical skills I developed will really help me when I go back to university and also when I graduate. There are lots of training courses available to PwC staff if you go looking for them, especially in the larger offices (Belfast, London)

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in Belfast was quite busy but normally so busy that people couldn't have a chat. The FTS department in Belfast have their own lab so it has a more familial feel to it as everyone knows each other very well.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was organised fairly well, I feel student recruitment could have contacted us more throughout the year regarding our status. Saying that, I never needed any help so I'm sure they would have been there if I had.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • PwC invest heavily in you, they want you to come back as a graduate, the onus is on you to show them you have the ability to do so.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • National Travel

    International Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very, I have a graduate offer from PwC.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, very strong social scene

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Belfast is a cheap city to live in, although wages reflect this cheapness. Nightlife is good though.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Good, lots of bars and a few good clubs. One club is directly opposite the Belfast office.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I think there are running/cycling clubs but nothing that appealed to me specifically.

    3/5
