About You
A fantastic experience which was very well organised and well run. The insight was both challenging and fun and gave me an invaluable insight into my future firm.
Easily the friendliest firm I have ever been to with everybody from partners to reception staff happy to give up some of their time to help you. Fantastic corporate culture!
Guidance provided by our trainers and by Graduate Recruitment was excellent. There were also regular checks to make sure we were doing ok and understood everything.
Presenting is not something I have done a lot of in the past but working on a business scenario and then presenting it was extremely useful for my personal development and no doubt will aid my professional development.
The Company
Very well structured, everything was planned and executed well. Our time was well split between working with our trainers and other activities that Graduate Recruitment had planned for us
The atmosphere was great with everybody friendly and this didn't feel like a competition to get a training contract which is sometimes how other vacation schemes feel. This allowed all of us to relax and enjoy the experience.
During the time we were at the firm it was an incredibly busy 2 weeks before christmas. Having said that, all staff that I came across right down from David Morley were happy to give us guidance and help. This made us feel that the firm was committed to our success and developing us for a long term career at the firm.
The balance of work and tasks that we were given required us to manage our time effectively and communicate well with members of our team. This was an insight into how a trainee operates at a magic circle firm.
This is without doubt the best corporate culture I have seen in a major law firm. When the firm says that it has a collegiate culture they really mean it. There was a lot of collaboration between teams and everybody working together which was great to see.
This experience confirmed that A&O is the firm for me and was an invaluable experience. Thank you Sarah, Rebecca and Kelly!
Everything Else
We had speed networking as well as being encouraged to go and meet other members of the teams we were sitting in
Networking with the trainees was very useful to gain an understanding of how trainee roles differ in the different departments.
Yes and the social life at the firm seems to a real bonus. It is true that magic circle trainees work hard but there is still plenty of time to socialise outside of the office.
Without question
