The Role
As with any job, there are days where it is a bit tedious and monotonous, but on the whole the job is varied, interesting and enjoyable.
The people at ProspectSoft are fantastic, and I really enjoyed the lively, friendly atmosphere in the office.
Support and guidance is readily available and anyone will give you time if you need it. However, people are busy so you need to use some initiative and be a bit pushy sometimes to get the help you need.
As a small business there is always a lot to do, and there are a lot of different tasks which you become involved in. Therefore I found that I always had work to do, but some days were very busy and others weren't so bad. You need good time management skills!
I was given quite a lot of responsibility, I ran two projects while I was there on top of my day-to-day tasks.
I have gained a lot of confidence, and my business awareness and knowledge has increased a huge amount. I think this will be extremely beneficial in my future career and my degree.
The Company
The atmosphere at ProspectSoft is lively and fun but also professional. Lots of friendly banter and a really fun place to work.
The placement scheme is a big part of ProspectSoft's strategy, and actually the scheme's organisation is getting better and better each year.
We had lots of internal training, as well as a bit of external training. However more importantly, they invested time and effort internally to help me to develop my own skills.
Company Parties/Events
I have been offered a provisional job following the completion of my degree and I'm looking forward to going back
The Culture
The social scene amongst placements was brilliant. We organised several nights out, football, cricket, drinks after work, trips away and generally made really good friends.
I worked in Stokenchurch but lived in Oxford. Oxford is a very expensive place to live but the salary paid is enough to get by.
Oxford is brilliant for a night out, and High Wycombe is improving. Also London and Reading aren't far, so there are plenty of places to go out.
Golf, football, cricket
