The Role
Was a very good placement, although I didn't like the amount of travel I had to do early on in the year.
Within my own department I felted very valued, from other departments I didn't feel as valued.
My supervisor always gave me support when needed.
Varied from day to day but overall I was kept busy.
Was allowed to take my own projects up when they arose etc.
Wasn't necessarily related to my course but I feel I gained skills in other areas which are much more valuable, such as team work, communication skills and prioritising.
The Company
Very friendly environment!
Fortnightly one to one meetings and weekly team meetings etc, also had a structure to what I was doing.
I had a lot of "on the job training" but in terms of formal training there was very little.

I wouldn't want to work in Shropshire again (for personal reasons as I have grown up here and do not like the area) but I would love to have a chance to work in Caterpillar again.
The Culture
This year there were only two placement students, but next year I think there will be more of a social aspect as the number of placement students is going to increase.
This doesn't really apply to me as I moved back in with my parents and had friends from home to socialise with.
I live in Oswestry, but there might be more in Shrewsbury
Various charity events and future talent shows to get involved in. I am trying to get involved in a charity dragon boat race.
