The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the work I have taken part in this year.
I worked in a team that focused on solving problems together with everyone's input. For this reason I felt very valued by my colleagues.
Whenever I have required support it has always been available to me.
Everyday had it's challenges but they were always achievable which made the work very rewarding when completed.
I was given a good level of responsibility in my job role, this allowed me to improve my personal management skills at a suitable pace.
I have learnt valuable skills from all of the work I've been involved with. These skills will all assist towards my further degree studies and my future career.
The Company
The office atmosphere was always welcoming.
The work placement was very well organised and my workload was managed very well to suit my learning pace.
I had regular meetings with my supervisor to discuss my progress and I was regularly given opportunities to take part in training and development sessions alongside my day to day work.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
I find future employment opportunities with Caterpillar very appealing.
The Culture
The social scene at work is very good and outside of work there are regular social events. As I lived in the same house as some of the other placement students we regularly discussed our work and made the most of social opportunities away from the office.
Cost of living wasn't too bad as we shared a house between four students. General living costs in the local area were average and manageable.
The nightlife in Peterborough is generally very good. There are lots of pubs and bars and also a good selection of clubs for those wanting to stay out late!
We had regular activities organised for outside of work and there are quite a few activity opportunities in the local area.
