The Role
I have REALLY enjoyed my placement year at Siemens. I was able to work on various projects and with different people who are experts in their field. I gained vital work experience which has equipped me with the right ammunition of my future as an Engineer. I would recommend a year in the industry to anyone and most of all a year with Siemens. You will never regret it.
During my time at Siemens, I worked for different departments and the one thing all the teams/ team members had in common were all very welcoming. Everyone is approachable and ready to assist you. We all work together and get along cohesively as One Siemens.
From my experience, while I was on my placement year, the managers, supervisors and mentors where always there to support me any queries/ problems I had.
During my placement year, I had a constant work load on a daily basis. I had the opportunity to work on various project and occasionally help out in some charity work, so I never had a boring day while I was at Siemens.
At the start of my placement I didn't have enough responsibility because I was still training and getting used to the new system. After a couple of months at Siemens, I had built my confidence in the new place and the new products and thus, the managers and senior engineers had sufficient trust in my ability to perform certain tasks at an expected standard. So once I gained the managers trust, I was given a sufficient amount of responsibility.
All the skills I learnt are very useful to me as they relate to my degree and thus, my future as an engineer.
The Company
The general atmosphere in y office is very relaxed but also work focused. The dress code for work is Business Smart Casual. In one word, I can say the atmosphere is Chill.

The Culture
The cost of living is cheap but not that cheap. Well I moved to my work area from London, so everything is cheaper anyway.
The Nightlife is Good but nothing compared to London.
