The Role
I've had a lot of fun at Intel and have been given a lot of opportunities. The culture and people are fantastic which makes it a great place to work.
I was expecting to be treated like an intern (making coffees for big wigs or something) but people really value your input here. I had an awesome team too... every member was very supportive in my ideas and development throughout my time at Intel.
I was extremely lucky as I had a manager and a mentor. My manager would give me very high level guidance where as my mentor would give me continuous support and was always there to answer any questions I had.
This can vary considerably as it really depends on what you want to get out of your time here. During my first month I felt like there was a lack of work as my team likes to ensure that the intern can complete their core responsibilities to a very good standard. If you look to expand your role by exploring various projects you can become extremely busy but this type of work is optional.
I was given a large amount of responsibility from designing and implementing events to managing one of our promotion programs. This is very dependant on project involvement and development as I had to gain a lot of trust to be given these types of responsibilities.
I worked very hard to gain as much experience here as I possibly could. I feel that I have improved a variety of skills and gained many attributes. Ultimately all my experience at Intel has allowed me to understand a focus and should be very valuable in supporting the next stage of my career.
The Company
Everyone at Intel is very friendly and willing to help.
There is a crossover period between the new and old intern. Basically this means that the old intern will train the new intern for a month. My training was okay but your training will depend on your predecessor.
There are loads of training courses that you can attend throughout the year. I would definitely suggest attending as some of these courses can be really helpful in improving certain skills. e.g. presenting, project planning etc.

I think employment prospects are very vague as people will give you different answers. My personal opinion is that it's probably down to your performance and whether they have a position/ budget available.
The Culture
There is a large intern community so there is always something going on plus your colleagues may occasionally invite you out.
Well I come from London so everything seems very cheap.
Old Town has nice bars and clubs. Also there are surrounding villages that have great pubs that occasionally have gigs.
All the time! You'll receive regular emails inviting you to a variety of different types of events and activities.
