The Role
Was a great experiance, was trusted to work alone and was treated like everyone else on the team
My team were always helpful and friendly and I was part of the group from a very early stage.
Support was provided when I needed it, but the job did require me to work alone and use my initiative
Sometimes too busy - expected to do work that collegues in the job for more than 5 years would've found difficult.
Repsonsible for the release of batches of product from site through quality testing.
Practical laboratory skills have improved alot, theoretical knowledge not as much
The Company
Busy but mostly happy - everyone is always willing to help if you encounter a problem
Was sometimes difficult to fit in my university work which went alongside my placement
Lots of basic training for work, however, not trained in many laboratory tests - often ended up doing the same thing each day due to this.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Very good, have got through to final stage of graduate scheme
The Culture
10 placement students on site - 9 male, 1 female. Attempted social events but the group didn't gel very well
Live in the middle of nowhere up North - very cheap!
Miles away from a town with bars or clubs
Not really.
