The Role
The job is fantastic, hard work on your own and lots of targets, but you're your own boss and get the resonsibility of planning where you work each day and how to achieve your goals.
You meet up with your colleagues atleast once a month at the regional meeting and I could always ring them up for help and advice if I was stuck on anything and vice versa.
Manager came out on journeys to check on my progress every few weeks when I first began the role and when I had my car broken into she was very supportive.
Very busy have alot of targets and time pressures and you do have to be very organised to fulfil everything that needs doing. It gets stressful.
Lots of responsibility to plan your own calls and priorities and help other colleagues. I had to handle money and manage a cash and carry account. You have to use your own judgement on what you think is best because you are on your own alot.
Ive had to do presentations infront of senior managers which has increased my confidence. My knowledge has increased with an overall awareness of how businesses work, supply chain management, new product launches for example which will all help back in uni.
The Company
I never had to work in an office environment so the only banter I enjoyed was laughing at Chris Moyles.
Very well organised,my manager rung to make all my arrangements, start date etc and was helpful in completing my reviews when I did begin the placement.
I went on 3 training courses to develop my skills.

They run a graduate scheme and I would definately like to go back when I finish my course.
The Culture
There was only one other placement student but we lived in different towns so we never met up.
The cost of living and socialising is fairly cheap in the area I lived.
The nightlife was as good as any big city.
There werent many opportunites, although the team did get to take part in a charity event I wanted to arrange before I left.
