The Role
I absolutely loved my placement. The support was amazing, the people were amazing, and my research skills increased an incredible amount.
Most of my colleagues treated me as if I was a full time worker, which is the best way for me to develop as an employee.
The 1:1 tuition was outstanding. I have never been given this level of care and tuition at university of elsewhere.
My project whilst at GSK was a challenging one, which required me to really push myself. I am consequently busy on a daily basis.
I was the only student given the responsibility of a home office licence and therefore my responsibility was immense.
My training will be invaluable when completing my degree, Not to mention the science and practical skills I have learned, but the self-disciplin also.
The Company
My original office was small (consisting of about 8 people) and was very relaxed and fun. However, part way through my placement I moved to the new 'smart labs'. Whilst I absolutely love the smart lab set up, there is a lot more of a tense atmosphere in the office due to the open plan. However, despite this I think the smart labs are amazing.
My project was set up for me and I integrated wonderfully into the team.
From paying for my licence to personal tuition, GSK offered me the most amazing opportunities and training.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I am eager to persist at GSK.
The Culture
IP Unite were a social group who set up events for all the students. I made many close friends here and the atmosphere is wonderful.
Being very close to my family home I lived here.
There are not many options and the options are quite poor. However, being close to London, this is the best and a very great option.
Not specifically.
