The Role
It has been very enjoyable both in terms of work and social life.
They treat you as an equal and respect your opinion.
Support was always available if I required it.
I always had work to do and ample time to complete it in.
I was given full responsibility of my own project; I performed the lab work myself and made decision on what steps to take.
I have learnt lots of very valuable skills that will be useful for the rest of my career and especially my employability.
The Company
A professional atmosphere that still had a very social aspect.
Everything was in place for a student to work in the department.
I attended all the required safety training and also numerous professional development workshops were run throughout the year.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Employment prospects are good in the company in general, less recruitment happens in the department I worked for.
The Culture
There was a good community of students at the site I was based.
Resonable considering its proximity to London.
The immediate nightlife was quiet only pubs but you are only a short train ride from London which has all you could ask for.
Lots of opportunities with a sports and social club that runs many activites just off of site.
