The Role
It was great experience of the pharmaceutical industry where i made many new friends and connections
I felt integral to the team and trusted with large responsibility
Whenever suppourt was needed, it was given. Was so easy to arrange suppourt sessions
Varied day to day, some days really busy and other days less of a work load but the variation is nice
A lot. Ran cruicial assays for the teams progress and reviewing
I have learnt skills that I will hold on to for many years to come. Particularly in my final year project at uni i feel like i will be one step ahead having already achhieved all of the lab experience.
The Company
Some days rather quiet but you could spark conversation if you ever wanted to
Was set up professionally and ensured that each student had their own individual supervisor. Contact was also made between uni and GSk to enable project deadlines to be met.
A lot of my personal training came from my supervisor. Perhaps there could have been more generic lab training given to everyone
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Wanted to apply for a job but has been a recruitment freeze preventing me from doing this
The Culture
Was socialising every weekend and even some weekdays too. My department often organised team building days too
Fairly cheap compared to London prices but not like up north!
Poor, only a few pubs and one club
Not really that i am aware of. Only thing is the netball team that work organises
