About You
I very much enjoyed the placement. Employees and fellow peers on the insight program were extremely friendly and welcoming and overall the insight week was relaxed and enjoyable.
As there was a relatively small number of people taking part on the program, it was very easy to get to know everyone and by the end, everyone knew my name which made me feel welcomed and valued. Additionally, staff at Unilever took interest in each of us personally and were eager to find out as much as possible about us, enabling me to feel valued.
I felt that I was very well supported throughout the insight. Support was given to us from those on industrial placements right up to senior employees at Unilever.
I developed my interpersonal skills and interview skills during the insight. Additionally, I received extensive feedback on my interview skills after the insight program which I will be able to use in the future.
The Company
The insight was very well structure, with a clear and detailed program given to us at the beginning of the insight. I felt that time was used effectively and at no point did I feel that I was just hanging around with nothing to do.
There was a great general atmosphere during the insight. Everyone was very friendly and there was no competitiveness between fellow peers on the insight program. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming.
I felt that the firm did invest in us, as we were able to get some great advice and support from some senior members of the firm, making me feel invested in.
As the insight week was short, it was difficult to gain an extensive feel into what it would be like to have a role within the company, however, I did gain a general idea.
Unilever has a unique culture, which promotes a relaxed, welcoming and friendly atmosphere and the insight week really helped me understand that.
The insight week was valuable, however, it has not determined a definite future career path for myself.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed travel expenses.
Yes, there was a networking dinner.
The networking dinner was a great chance to talk to senior employees and discover more about their chosen career path.
I did not find out much about activities outside of work.
I would absolutely recommend this insight to a friend.
