The Role
It has been a great experience to work for HP this year. I have gotten a great insight into the B2B market as well as gotten practice in business operations.
My colleagues have always been close to mentor and support. I have gotten to know several quite well. I have always felt like part of the team.
I have always received the relevant and needed support. Even senior managers have been very open to mentor me and give advice.
I have been very busy in a good way. I have had a variety of tasks and projects to work on. I have also been travelling alot for meetings and events.
I have been given more responsibility than I expected but in a great way. Several projects I ran on my own because my colleagues put that trust in me!
This placement year has enabled me to understand the theory I have learned in a range of different subjects such as management, leadership, project management and international relations.
The Company
It was always really nice. People are friendly and were always open for a chat. I have never had an unfriendly/rude encounter.
It all depended on the person that handed over to the new intern. In my case, the previous intern was not overly engaged and I had to create the role myself. To me, that was something that was beneficial.
HP assured me that I was very welcome to any training I wanted to attend. The basic training for software and CRM I received in the beginning of my internship. Personal development has been managed with my boss, who always took time for me.

I am intending to come back to HP as I have truly enjoyed the culture and atmosphere here. I have also created a network that I want to nurture.
The Culture
Yes it was great. The intern community sticks together and lives together in Reading in this case. I already had a home before I started so I didn't move out.
In terms of Bracknell it is fairly ok. In terms or Reading, it can be a bit more expensive. London has high prices as expected. It depends where you go, as well.
Reading as far as I know is a great place for nights out as it is a student town and has good deals during the week on both food and drink.
Yes, every time there was a team meeting we always had networking drinks afterwards informally somewhere outside the office. Several events have also been outside of work that I have enjoyed.
