  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone was lovely and very supportive. I became an invaluable member of the team very quickly.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My colleagues and manager were extremely supportive of my development. They wanted to make sure I got the most out of this year to assist me in my future career.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was never bored, that's for sure! I was mostly very busy but had some (much appreciated) quieter times too where I could get my head down and do my Uni work for example.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given real work and true responsiblity from the very start which definitely enhanced my development and made me more confident in my ability. I was thrown in at the deep end - but with lots of support along the way!

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have no doubt that this tangible industry experience will benefit me in my final year of University as well as in the years to come when I start my career.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There is always a big buzz around GSK House as it is so big and busy! My floor was just the right balance - I had lots of fun with my team but also enough quiet time to concentrate on the task at hand.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • My placement was very well organised.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was given challenging work to develop myself 'on the job' as well as the opportunity to attend formal training sessions (online and face to face) to further my learnings.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    Subsidised Canteen

    Financial Bonus

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing. I have applied for the GSK Future Leaders Programme, as it is a company I would love to work for.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were loads of placement students in the same boat at the same time so the social scene was there if you wanted it. We had an organisation called IP Unite (made up of students) that arranged both social and corporate events on a regular basis - including an end of year boat party.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Being in London is bound to be more expensive - but it is OK if you don't go out every night!

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London's nightlife is very good and diverse!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Some socials were organised, GSK fundraising events now and again, and placement student events.

    3/5
