The Role
The internship was pretty good. There are many smart people and a relaxed atmosphere. However if you are a contractor or a long-term intern, then you feel alienated. There is a bias against interns. So even if you are a very talented intern you will always be given 'intern' tasks.
I wasn't given hard enough tasks so I did feel that I wasn't valued enough. Most tasks were either too easy or had no direct practicality to the company.
There was support. However there was missing guidance a few times. Several times I was given vague tasks without a specific technical goal. I wasn't sure what was asked from me.
I was busy. That was due mostly to my own drive though when I was missing specific tasks.
Not enough. I wanted to take tasks as everyone else. Still as long as you are labelled as 'intern' you will always get some very specific tasks that many times are just useless with no real value to neither the company or the person doing them (well maybe of little value to him/her).
The main thing is that I gained experience. I took the placement not because of the studies but rather as an easy way to gain experience. So if I assume that the question refers to what degree it helped me develop my skills then I rate it an 8.
The Company
Relaxed.
Mediocre. I ran out of tasks many times or was given poor requirements for tasks. Other times the tasks were too vague and did not add direct benefit to the company.
As a long-term intern I was expecting to get some extra benefits. However this did not happen. I was not able to attend any courses I found interesting. I very seldom got invited to meetings or any of that sort that could help me gain pragmatic working environment experience.

This is a good company but I guess it all depends on where in the company you land. There are some bad management decisions at some places.
The Culture
As a long-term intern you often feel alienated. Since you are being an intern you can't either join the "big guys". They might ask you out etc. to be polite but no one wants to give you a real problem when you're back at office.
VERY EXPENSIVE. Furthermore it was much harder for me since the company did not help me relocate. I ended up having to move from place to place every 2-3 months. All this affected me at work since I had sleep deprivation quite often.
Bad. Still I don't know what this has to do with work?
Yes. Thankfully there is a strong scientific community to join and many meetups!
