The Role
Very enjoyable. Great to work in a lab and apply scientific knowledge to solve problems. Helped me build confidence in my lab skills, something I will take with me for the rest of my scientific careear.
Team I worked with valued my input and hard work. They were also willing to learn from me with areas they were less familiar with from my subjects at university which was great.
Excellent. Always there to go over anything I did not understand and to help me learn as much as possible about my placement so I could take the most from it.
There was always something to do, even when there was a lot of work coming in it never felt stressful thanks to great management
I was given a fair amount, I was able to set up all my experiments, use knowledge of previous experiments to alter proformas and have my input for experiments taken seriously.
I feel like I have learned more lab skills on this placement than 3 years of uni! It has also helped me with working in different environements (office/lab) and gave me an excelenet set of skills to apply to any lab.
The Company
The office had a good atmosphere, always able to go ask for help when needed and everyone was easy to get on with.
Very well organised, my supervisor had as much as possible set up before I arrived. The only hard bit at the start was getting all the software on my computer!
A lot of time and energy has been invested in training and developing me and I am only to happy to help pay it back by producing the best work I can.

Programmes are set up to help placement students come back to get jobs at the organisation and keeping in contact with people also seems like a good way to get a job back with the company.
The Culture
A bit of a divide between biologist and chemists but everyone was very friendly and easy to get on with at events organised by us or by the student unite team.
Okay, The pay is decent enough to allow you to go out and have fun though.
It is okay for a small town but the fact that London is just 20 mins away on the train made up for it!
Nothing really has came up.
