The Role
This placement was thoroughly enjoyable as the company provides various extra-curricular and team building activities.
My reports and presentations were appreciated by everyone and their comments assisted me in improving my work and at the same time made me feel that my efforts were worthwhile.
My supervisor provided excellent support and guidance both inside and out of the workplace and allowed me to complete my dissertation well before schedule. I am thoroughly grateful for his excellent feedback.
My projects and dissertation writeup kept me occupied throughout my placement.
I was given a fairly significant task of delivering novel infrastructure, and support was provided whenever I asked. The company paid subscriptions to various computational packages and never made a fuss whenever I required anything.
I use the skills I develop within my degree now and the training I received will no doubt be useful in my professional future.
The Company
There was a perfect balance of work and relaxation without being too dull or unprofessional.
The placement was set up very well as projects were already listed to be given to me when I began working. My supervisor ensured that I was always on track and allowed me to meet my deadlines ahead of time.
The company invested a fair deal in providing subscriptions and training for my work. I was allowed to access any online training courses I wished and I was also enrolled in a few training courses with members

Working from home
Future prospects within the organisation look very promising but research and development requires at least a phD for a graduate job.
The Culture
There was a vibrant social scene among students, with nights out arranged on almost a weekly basis.
Being close to London, living and socialising costs were close to the high end of the scale.
The nightlife was almost non-existent as there was not much excitement in the town.
There were a few opportunities to get involved in activities, with regular football matches being arranged at the leisure club and gym.
