The Role
I was given plenty of responsibilty from the start and although it was stressful at times, everyone was friendly and always I always felt I had support if I needed it.
It is a small company so you really feel that your work has an impact on the company. Everyone is included in meetings and you are encouraged to voice your opinions.
I felt that I could always go to my manager with any questions I had, although he was out of the office quite often so communcation often had to be done by email or phone. I had regular appraisals to ensure I was recieving the support and training I needed.
At times when I had a project on I was very busy, but even when I didn't have anything urgent to do I still had plenty to keep me occupied.
Right from the start I was given my own projects and encouraged to make the main decisions (and mistakes!)
In advising companies on business software I have developed a much more comprehensive knowledge of how businesses operate. I have also greatly improved in confidence and organisational skills which will be a huge advantage when I return to university for my final year.
The Company
The office banter was always great and we all got on really well as a team.
As soon as we arrived we were put into 2 weeks training on the product and when we were introduced into the office they ensured we had someone who's job it was to support us for the first few months.
I had 2 weeks product training, attended a solution selling course and a telesales skills course
Company Parties/Events
I have been offered a job and am looking forward to coming back after university as a permanent member of the team
The Culture
Yes, we organised nights out together and often other members of the company, not just placements, would come along too.
Not too bad, I lived in Oxford and commuted to Stokenchurch but even with Oxford's high rent prices I still had enough for nights out.
The areas surrounding Stokenchurch were great for nightlife. Oxford and High Wycombe have some good places to go out and London isn't far to go.
Various sporting events were arranged, such as football, cricket and golf
