    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed the placement a lot, there have been a lot of interesting and challenging opportunities throughout the year, all of which i would not have had the chance to do had i not taken this placement.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt valued a lot, i was given lots of important tasks and responsibilities which i got a lot of feedback from and helped me to keep improving.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • There was lots of support available, from my own manager and everyone else. Most people realise you are there for the year to get as much out of it as possible and so they all help to do that wherever possible.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was never nothing to do, it wasn't quite as busy towards the start of the year but as people got to know me more, the workload started to increase. I was never too busy that i couldn't get the important things done but the time at work was always filled.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Lots of responsibility. I was treated as an equal employee in most cases and the work i was given would've been done by a full time employee anyway and so i had very similar tasks and responsibilities.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have developed a number of skills i wouldn't have had the chance to develop if i hadn't done a placement. It's been useful to see how a workplace such as Vauxhall is run as i'm sure it is very similar to a lot of other work places and so i feel more prepared for finishing my degree. Also organisational wise, my placement will have helped me be more organised when going back to uni.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was always very friendly and everyone was approachable and helpful when it was needed. Lots of interesting discussions were had, which helped me feel a part of the office very quickly.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was very well organised, having a lot of other people on the scheme was a lot of fun because i met a lot of other people in the same boat as me very quickly. This also made work fun as there was lots of opportunities to work with them aswell as do my own work. There were also a lot of different opportunities such as presentations which i wouldn't have got as much experience doing at uni so i feel more prepared for that now.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Quite a lot, towards the start of the year there were a few training days, which made sure we knew what we need to in order to get on in our roles. And training was done on other things as and when it was needed which was very helpful.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would definitely be open to coming back once finishing my degree if there was a position that suited me, It would save a lot of getting to know a lot of new people and would allow me to get stuck in very quickly and make the most out of it.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, there was a large number of placement students so a lot of us are good friends and see each other a lot outside of work.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Very similar to at uni and home but actually had the money to afford it.

    3/5
